		<description>&lt;p&gt;my suspicion is that we won't be able to resolve those DRM-like problems on a technical level. there was a lengthy discussion of this on the &lt;a href="https://lists.secondlife.com/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/sldev" rel="nofollow"&gt;sldev&lt;/a&gt; mailing list about this and so far we've more or less reached the conclusion that permissions are really nothing more than a license digest: by setting permissions you signal to the owner "these are the rights i grant you and this is how i want you to use this item"&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;in the discussion --- &lt;a href="https://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Protecting_content_in_an_open_grid" rel="nofollow"&gt;summarized&lt;/a&gt; on the SL wiki --- we also came up with an extension to the current permission system to let a content creator specify which region domains she trusts to abide by her rules (so to speak).&lt;/p&gt;
